New Colours are presented to the 2nd Battalion by General Sir Frederick Roberts, VC, Commander in Chief in India.These were the first colours presented to the Manchester Regiment, as opposed to the former 63rd and 96th Regiments. They were carried until 1911, when they were retired and presented to St. Michael and All Angels Parish Church in Ashton-under-Lyne.
